Eugene Ray Holmes

Eugene Ray Holmes, 67, of Moundsville, WV, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Liza’s Place, Wheeling, WV.
Eugene was born on July 8, 1954 in Sistersville, WV.
He was a retired coal miner for the Shoemaker Mine, loved photography, mud bogs and hunting and fishing.
Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Leon Holmes; step-father, Charles Shepherd; siblings, infant sister, Loretta Holmes, Joe Holmes and Norick Holmes.
Surviving are his mother, Sylvia (Berisford) Shepherd of Bethlehem, WV; son, Eugene “Buddy” Ray Holmes of Follansbee, WV; siblings, Julie (Cliff) Toland of Cameron and Melvin Holmes of Moundsville; a grandson and three granddaughters, Marilyn, Autumn and Shelby.
Friends will be received on Thursday, February 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 at CARE Funeral & Cremation Service, 1500 Second Street, Moundsville where funeral services will be held on Friday, February 4th at 11am with Rev, Tom Rentfrow officiating.
Interment will follow at Sandhill Cemetery.
