Elaine Norris

Elaine C. Norris, 67, died Friday, September 10, 2021, at Lancia Villa Nursing Home in Steubenville, OH.

She was born May 21, 1954 in Wheeling, WV a daughter of Irene Handzel  of St. Clairsville, Ohio and  the late Joseph Handzel.

Elaine worked as a civil engineer at Hamilton & Associate Engineers. She was a member of the Fairpoint Polish American Club and the Wheeling Carpenters Union. Elaine graduated from Belmont Technical College in 1986 with an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering funded by the Joint Training Partnership Act Program. Her family was her daily motivation and happiness.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son Christopher “Chad” (Jodi) Norris of Steubenville, Ohio, brothers: Michael Handzel of Columbus, Ohio and Joseph “Jay” (Joann) Handzel of Martinsburg, WV, sisters: Barbara (George) Zoeckler of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania and Leah Ann (Ken) Yost of Hideaway Hills, Ohio, and two grandsons: Jared and Brennon Norris.

Family and friends will be received at CARE Funeral and Cremation Specialists 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville, OH 43950 on Wednesday, September 15, 2021  from 9:00 until time of the Rosary Service at 10:30 am with Father Dan Heusel Officiating. Following the Rosary Service, Father Thomas Chillog will begin a Liturgy of the Word Service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery St. Clairsville, OH.
