Eileen D. Seckman, 91, of East Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Mercy Health of Boardman with her daughters at her side.  Eileen was born in Cleveland, OH on January 24, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph R and Nettie (Bash) Coakley.  

 

Eileen was a 1948 graduate of East Liverpool High School and lived in the area most of her life.  She married Paul Seckman on April 13, 1952, whom she met while both working in the drycleaning business, and spent the next sixty years enjoying life together until his death on September 12th 2013.  She was a charter member of the Junior Women’s Club as well as the Tri-State Boot and Saddle Club.  She was a Deacon of Trinity Church in East Liverpool, and belonged to Trinity Church Faith Circle.  Eileen was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed making beautiful homecoming and prom gowns for family and friends. 

 

Left behind to cherish her memory are her two daughters and son-in-law, Paula Chamberlin and Lori (John) Nocella, both of East Liverpool.  She also leaves behind three grandchildren: Chad Wilkinson, Jack Nocella, and Ava Nocella, all from East Liverpool.

 

Along with her parents and husband, Eileen was predeceased in death by: her siblings: Richard Coakley, Joseph Coakley, Madeline Silverthorn, and Rosemary Eardley, a baby daughter, Joni Lynn, and her son-in-law, Larry Chamberlin.  

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 2PM-7PM at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists- Martin Chapel in Calcutta.  The funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Martin Chapel with Life Celebrant Don Bangor officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in memory of Eileen be made to:  St. Jude Children’s Research, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN  38105; or Longs Run Presbyterian Church, 15851 Longs Church Road, Calcutta, OH  43920
