Denver C. Marks Sr. formerly of East Liverpool died October 19, 2016 at the Blossom Nursing Home in Salem OH.
Denver was born on December 1, 1936 in Little Otter WV a son of the late Hayden and Eunice (Rogers) Marks. Having lived most of his life in the area Denver was a truck Driver for 47 years. He was a small fleet owner in the 60’s and 70’s and worked for various other companies over the years the last of which was Tom Clayton Trucking from which he retired in 2013. Denver hauled everything from Bombs during Vietnam to Girl Scout cookies. He delivered the swing set to Westpoint school and hauled away the last load of steel from Crucible. His favorite job was delivering the helicopter to the Midland VFW.
Denver also enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, riding motorcycles and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary (Robinson) Marks whom he married January 4, 1957; 2 sons: Denver Marks Jr. and his wife Stacy of Salem OH and Dan Marks and his wife Peggy of Hampton VA; 4 daughters: Beth Marks Conlon of Lisbon Oh, Patricia Brand and her companion Mike Pearson of Valdese NC, Laurie Marks and her husband John Chafinn of East Palestine and Bonnie Kirkpatrick and her husband Terry of New Cumberland WV; a sister: Doris Puckett of Salineville OH; 12 Grandchildren: Andy Marks, Melissa Clay, Amanda Brand, Michelle Pearson, Tonya Pearson, Eddie Brown Jr, Dalton Kirkpatrick, Robbie Marks, Daniel, Marks, Samantha Douglas, Lindsay Fortune, Tara Marks and 9 Great Grandchildren: Mia Marks, Madison Clay, Colt Clay, Ryan Brand, Makenzie Brand, Charlie Carol, Garrett Mayerchak, Luke Douglas, Sadie Douglas and one sister, Doris Puckett of Salineville, Ohio.
In addition to his parents Denver was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Marks.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home on Saturday October 22, 2016 at 11 AM with Reverend Paul Sturm Officiating. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord full military honors.
Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday October 21, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
