Debra Hawkins

Debra Hawkins, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend; passed away on May 3rd, 2023 at the age of 71. Born on July 17th, 1951 in East Liverpool,  Debra lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.  She was a 1969 graduate of Beaver Local High School.

As a homemaker and mother to two children, Debra’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with them.  She enjoyed spending time at the beach, especially in   Charleston, SC . Debra had a passion for food, singing, bingo, casinos, and an occasional “bar crawl”.  She was definitely the social butterfly of the family. She knew how to light up a room  She also had a great love of music from all genres 

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Hawkins, of Missouri, and her  father, Samuel Weese,of East Liverpool; but leaves behind her mother, Monnah Weese (Carr) of East Liverpool, her daughter,  Gwendolyn Wingo (Fickle), of North Charleston, SC; and her son, Timothy Fickle, Jr, of Jacksonville, FL.  She also leaves behind her siblings: Jeff, with wife, Debbie Weese, of Edgewater, FL, Phoebe, with husband, William Simms, of East Liverpool, and Sam, with wife, Debbie Weese, of Burgettstown, PA; two grandchildren, Kyla Wingo, of Pelion, SC, and Jacob Wingo, of North Charleston, SC; four nieces: Jennifer, with husband, Jason Coulon, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Danielle, with husband, John Nolan, of East Liverpool, Katie, with husband, Andrew Ketchum, of Wellsville, and Brandy, with husband, Josh Paukner, of Salem; and two nephews: Jason, with wife, Tammy Weese, of Edgewater, FL, and Josh, with wife, Kara Weese, of East Liverpool.  As well as several great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Debra’s life on Monday, May 8th, 2023 from 12PM-2PM at Care Funeral & Cremation- Martin Chapel in Calcutta (15872 St Clair Avenue East Liverpool, OH 43920). The funeral service will follow at 2PM with Evangelist Willard Montgomery officiating.  Debra will be laid to rest in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
