Gifts & Memorial Donations

Deborah Kathleen Metcalfe Humphrey, 54, passed away peacefully surrounded by her close family on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic.

Debbie was born at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina on June 23, 1968, the daughter of Kevin Metcalfe and the late Stephanie Ann Hunter Metcalfe.  She grew up in Wellsville, Ohio.  In 1998, she moved to Petersburg, OH with the love of her life, Bobby Solomon.

Debbie was employed as a Nurses Aide from 1991-2004, and was recognized for outstanding patient care due to her strong work ethic and dedication to her patients and profession.

Anyone who knew her, knew that she was not a person to sit and watch life pass her by. She was a member of the APA Pool league and  loved roller skating, dancing and riding motorcycles with Bobby.  She was always ready to live life to the fullest and had an incredible infectious laugh that made those around her love her even more.  She was always ready to have a good time with family and friends, but was also the person to drop any plans to help someone out.   She was a free spirit, full of compassion, who left a huge footprint on many lives.

Those left behind to cherish her beautiful memory are: her soulmate of 25 years, Bobby Solomon; her daughters: Bridget (Marc) Russell and Stephanie (Ricky) Peck; and bonus daughter, Cassandra Jordan.  Debbie also leaves behind her six beautiful grandchildren, whom she was the best “Nana” to: Kaleb, Jasper, Liam, Lily, Lincoln, and Samuel.  She will also be missed by her sister, Mary Jordan.

Visitation will take place from 11AM-1PM on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists- Martin Chapel in Calcutta.  The funeral will follow at 1PM with Pastor Dirk Hall from The Living Well church officiating.

    Kelli Horner says:
I remember working with Debbie as far back as the 90’s at the Alzheimer’s Center. I always considered her a friend. Somewhere along the way, for some reason that doesn’t even seem relevant now, we lost touch. Time waits for no one. We had so much fun working together. It’s heartbreaking to think that I’ll never get that chance to just say hey how’ve you been? I’m sorry we lost touch. I’m sorry I’ll never get that chance. Mostly, I’m sorry for Robert, and her girls and grand babies. I’m keeping them in my thoughts and prayers for comfort. 🙏🏻💕
