Deborah Jean Sterling, 64, of Wheeling, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at home. She was born December 22, 1955 in Perry, Ohio, the daughter of the late Jerry Hartzell-Lee and Paula (Roe) Lewis.
Deborah was a claims adjuster for Blue Cross/ Blue Shield; a former elementary school teacher at Moundsville Christian School and Corpus Christi Catholic School; she taught at WVNCC and the prison systems and previously employed by United Bank in Moundsville; a Christian by faith. She enjoyed knitting blankets and scarves as gifts for nursing home residents.
Surviving is her husband Jeffrey A. Sterling; a sister Cathy Kuehn; two brothers Jim Lewis and Ed Lewis; a nephew Brian Lewis; nieces Stacey Darr, Kelsey Kuehn, Sydney Kuehn, Bridget Kern and Lindsay Stickles.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA or any local animal shelter.

    I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Debbie for 10 years at Blue Cross, but even more fortunate to become friends. She was truly a wonderful, caring person and her personality shined. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are being sent to her family and friends.
