Daniel L Walker

Daniel L. Walker, age 74, of Hanoverton, Ohio passed away at his home on Thursday, May 26, 2022, after a brief Illness. 

Born In New Cumberland, W.Va. on April 12, 1948, Dan was the son of the late Albert and Emma (Hicks) Walker and lived his entire life in this area. He was a graduate of Beaver Local High School, Class of 1966, and was employed at General Motors in Lordstown as a Forklift Operator until his retirement in 2001 after 32 years of service.

After retirement from General Motors, Dan worked at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center in Lisbon for 6 years.

Dan enjoyed making furniture in his woodworking shop and camping at Pymatuning State Park and at Woody’s R.V. Resort in Sebring, Florida. 

Dan is survived by: his wife, Marilyn (Purinton) Walker, whom he married on November 24, 1978; three children: Eric (Jennifer) Walker, of Canfield, OH, Larry (Pamela) Sullivan, of Louisville, OH, and Ken (Dawn) Sullivan, of Cincinnati, OH.; grandchildren: Aaron (Kaitlyn) Sullivan, Adam (Allison) Sullivan, Conner Sullivan, Benjamin Walker, Makaela Giannini, Tyler Sullivan, Trey Giannini, Owen Walker, and Zachary Walker.  Dan leaves behind a brother, Ronnie Walker, sisters-in-law: Dotty (Mike) Spangler, Beverly Walker, and Virginia Walker.  He also leaves his nephew Bob (Kelly) Walker as well as numerous additional nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Dan was preceded in death by: his daughter, Teresa Giannini, four siblings: Grace Cornell, Blair Walker, Bill Walker, and Norma Jean Davis; and his mother-in-law, Eileen Purinton.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 11:00AM-1:30PM at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists- Martin Chapel, in Calcutta.  The funeral will be held at 1:30PM with Rev. Michael Grant officiating.  Dan will be laid to rest in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
