Charles W. Hollinger, 87 of East Liverpool was called home with his loving family and his cat Gwen by his side on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Chester, West Virginia on October 14, 1927 he was the only son of the late Frank Oscar and Kathryn (Ingram) Hollinger. Graduating from Chester High School in 1946, he fulfilled his class prophecy “stating” he would be a cowboy. Buying his first horse at the age of seventeen, spending most of his days doing what he loved, riding in the hills of West Virginia. Along with being one of the original members of the Boot & Saddle Club, he was a welder at Treadwell Construction for 15 years and retired from Colt Crucible as a Rigger for 23 years.

Surviving is his devoted wife of 66 years, Rose (Miraglata) Hollinger of East Liverpool, OH; daughters: Faye (Dave) Williams of East Liverpool, OH and Peggy Esenwein of Austintown, OH; granddaughters: Holly (Jeff) Tripp, Carrine Esenwein, Jeny Esenwein and Katie (Jim) Italiano; great grandchildren: Alexis Esenwein, Ryane Esenwein, Caden Tripp, Sophie Tripp, Landon Esenwein, Vance Esenwein and Kaden Italiano.

After owning many of his beloved horses over the years, he will forever be riding on his moonlight rides on his favorite Arabian Stallion Hondo. He truly loved the role of being husband, father and grandfather. He is remembered for his great sense of humor, and showing great humanitarianism.

Enjoying local fairs, horse shows and Indian Pow Wows, he always enjoyed watching the “Duke” Roy and Gene on the silver screen. He really did earn the nickname “Cowboy”.

Happy trails dear Chuckie till we meet again. Special thanks given to his caregivers: Charlotte, Tammy, Becky and Peggy K. And his aide Angie, along with the care given by Hospice and Southern Care nurses.
