Carolyn Elaine Chan, Wellsville, OH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the age of 84.
Elaine, daughter of the late Blane and June (McCauley) Culp, was born in Wellsville on November 24, 1938. She graduated from Wellsville High School in 1956 and spent her entire life in the area.
Many years ago, Elaine owned horses at Waterford Park (currently Mountaineer Racetrack) and worked at Waterford Inn. She later came to own and operate Busy Bee Restaurant and Tavern in Wellsville. Some of her favorite hobbies included, playing card and computer games, socializing, and getting her hair “did.” Of the many things she enjoyed, above all else, she loved spending time with her friends and family. Her loving kindness will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
Elaine is preceded in death by: her husband, Joseph Chan, whom she married in 1965, her son, Bobby Boyle, and her sister, Beverly (Dutch) Emler.
She leaves behind: two daughters, Lisa (Mick) (Bill) Duck, Calcutta, OH, and Diane Boyle, Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Ashley Jackson, Marcus Mick, and Will (Rachel) Duck; four great grandchildren, Cayden, Grayson, Benjamin, and Norah; and three sisters, Peg (Bob) Cavalluzzi, Gerry (Dick) Miller, and Jean (Dale) Tice.
Elaine will be laid to rest with her husband in Highlandtown Cemetery.
