Carol Sue Williams

Carol Sue Williams, 75, of East Liverpool passed away on Wednesday, December 8th 2021 at the Coventry Care and Rehab Center in East Palestine after an extended illness.

Born on March 16th, 1946 in East Liverpool, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Virginia (Wine) Virdin. She lived in the area her entire life, graduating from East Liverpool’s class of 1965, and attended Kent State University.  Carol had been employed as an assistant accountant at the former Potters Savings and Loan for many years. On December 18th, 1965, she married her husband David Williams, who was her lifelong companion for 43 years until his passing in 2008.

Carol was a member of and was a recorder for the Women of the Moose Chapter 122. She also had many hobbies such as sewing, gardening, and cooking. She was known for her spunky personality and her caring and gratefulness for those around her. She loved her family and was noted as being a loving mother and grandmother. 

Survivors include her daughters, Gwendolyn Marsden and her fiancé Chris Buffone of Knoxville, NC, and Charlene Russell and her husband, Joseph, of East Liverpool, OH, as well as her brothers David and George Virden, and a sister, Virginia Cochran. In addition she is also survived by her grandchildren, Hueston Russell, Tausha (Ryan) Stewart, and Brooke Angle, and her great-grandchildren Lola Rodgers, Nico Brogan, Salem ,Tobias, and Hudson Stewart. 

Carol will forever be missed by her family and friends..

Services will be held Monday, December 13th at 11:00am at the Martin Chapel of the Care Funeral and Cremations Specialist in Calcutta with Reverend Norm Eckert officiating.  Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Friends may call and visit with family at the Martin Chapel in Calcutta on Sunday, December 12th, 2021 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
