Beverly E. Black, 77, of Toronto, OH passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Beverly was born in Wellsville on April 5, 1945, the daughter of the late Thomas and Beverly (Blackburn) Buckel. She attended Wellsville High School and lived in the area her entire life.
Beverly was a beloved school bus driver for the Edison Local School system for 27 years, retiring in 2008. She was very active during her lifetime. She was an avid bowler and loved spending time socializing with her many friends. She enjoyed telling stories of her time driving bus and was always ready to travel or host a picnic. Beverly also made sure she had her favorite color, red, displayed throughout her home. She was also a courageous survivor of breast and lung cancer. Above all else, Beverly was selfless. She was the best grandmother/great-grandmother and always put the needs of others first.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are: her husband of 58 years, Wilbur Black, whom she married on September 5, 1964; her children, Robert Black and Geanie Black (Chris) Plunkett; seven grandchildren: Rachel Black, Joshua Jackson, Lacey (Chris) Saling, Jerimiah (Tara) Jackson, Shane (Brittany) Black, George (Caitlin) Allen, and Cory (Janelle) Plunkett; 16 great-grandchildren: Drake, Alexa, Maleah, Rayleigh, Ryleigh, Brayden, Josh, Kailynn, Addi, Jocclynn, Jessalinn, Jordy, Gemma, Jade, Theodore, and Wyatt. She also leaves behind two sisters: Elaine Rearly and Annette Slaughter as well as many nieces and nephews
Along with her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by five siblings: Thomas, Kenneth, Gary, Terry and Joyce, as well as her great-grandson, Hunter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 2PM-4PM and from 6PM-8PM at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists- MacLean Chapel on Riverside Avenue, Wellsville. The funeral will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11AM with Pastor Dan Crowe officiating. Beverly will be laid to rest in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
