Betty Jean (Touvelle) Russell of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 surrounded by her family at Calcutta Health Care.

She was born on March 24, 1936 in Glenco, OH the daughter of the late Howard and Alma (Kirchner) Touvelle. Betty once worked at the Homer Laughlin China Company and retired from Sterling China. However her real career was as mother, homemaker and friend to all. Those were the roles in her life that made her stand out.

Betty spent her retirement caring for her husband Richard and camping at the lake. She was the spark that kept the campfire burning. She will forever be remembered for her homemade noodles and fried green tomatoes.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard R. Russell whom she married on January 12, 1954; a son: John Russell and two brothers: Lee and Carl Touvelle.

She is survived by a son: Richard Russell and his companion Marleen of Lisbon, OH, Mike Russell and his wife Patricia of Wellsville, OH; a daughter: Chris and her husband Jim of New Manchester, WV; eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.

Family will be present to receive friends at the Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists MacLean Chapel on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 3 to 7 PM.
