Anna Beagle

Anna “Gae” Beagle, 93 of Lisbon Ohio, passed away on June 19, 2020 at the Continuing Healthcare Solutions in Lisbon, Ohio following a lengthy illness.

Gae was born in Griffithsville, WV on April 21, 1927, a daughter of the late Roma and Goldie (Stowers) Hale.  Living most of her life in the area, she worked as a decorator for W.C. Bunting before retiring in 1995.  Gae loved to work outside, gardening and being amongst her flowers.  Gae also loved attending Bluegrass Festivals

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Kent of Germantown, OH; and two sons: Danny R. Beagle (Maryann) of Pittsburgh, PA, and Eddie Beagle of Lisbon, OH. 10 grandchildren: Brandon, Megan, Myra, Casey, Lisa, Jimmy, Jeffrey, Danny, Kelly, and Sean.  Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Owen “Pete” Beagle, whom she married on September 23, 1946; two sisters, Dortha Burnside and Alcie Johnson; her son-in-law, Howard “Howdy” Kent as well as her special friend, Carl Elkins.

In compliance with Ohio state regulations and in connection to the COVID-19 public health crisis, visitation with proper social distancing, will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 1PM – 3PM at the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home in Calcutta.  The funeral service will follow at 3PM with Chaplain David Kahnt presiding.  Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.
