Ann Louise Galm Duke, 96 of Bloomington, IN, formerly of Lakeview Circle in East Liverpool, OH passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018.
She was born in East Liverpool on August 24, 1921 the daughter to the late Andrew L. Galm and Nina (Trenle) Galm. Ann Louise lived a great deal of her life in East Liverpool, with 20 years spent away in Richmond, IN and Louisville, KY. She graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1940 and was also a graduate of Grace Martin’s Business College for women in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a former private secretary at Sears in Pittsburgh and an office manager of Engineering Department of Patterson Foundry and Machine Company. Ann was part owner of Duke Engineering, Inc., a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and Trinity Church Service Guild and a former Sunday school teacher. She was a member of Christian Women’s Association, the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association, the East Liverpool Historical Society, and a member of the Volunteer of American Red Cross during World War II and served as a volunteer with Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond, IN and a former member of the Compass Club of Louisville, KY.
She is survived by two daughters: Donna D. Myers of Bluffton, SC and Deborah D. Sharda of Bloomington, IN; four granddaughters: Susan Myers (Rob) of Keystone, CO, Jennifer Myers Stewart (Peter) of Longmont, CO, Amy N. Myers of Bluffton, SC and Kimberly Sharda Boruff (Jonathan) of Bloomington, IN and five great grandchildren: Aaron A. T. Sharda-Miller of Bloomington, IN, Julian Jay W. Miller of Bloomington, IN, Jonathan Boruff of Bloomington, IN Emma Louise Stewart of Longmont, CO and Logan A. T. Boruff of Bloomington, IN.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Duke whom she married November 2, 1946.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta funeral home on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 11 AM up until the time of service at 1 PM
Memorial Contributions may be made to the National Cancer Society or the Indiana University Hospice House.
