Dudek, Alfred R. “Freddy”, 93, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital.

He was born in Wheeling, November 18, 1924, a son of the late John and Catherine (Kowalski) Dudek. Freddy was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, a life-long member of the Polish American Patriotic Club, American Legion, the V.F.W. He was a US Army WWII Veteran, Purple Heart recipient.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Cas Dudek and sisters, Connie Battista, Isabelle Habermas and Wanda Horvath.

Freddy is survived by his nieces Lois Bryan and Diane Mischel; nephews, Bob, Allen and Mark Battista, Richard Habermas, Gary Horvath and David Dudek; great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Monday, May 7, 2018 from 4-7 pm at Care Funeral Home, 3828 Jacob Street, Wheeling. A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, May 8, at 10 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Fr. Arul Anthony officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Alphonsus Church, 2111 Market St., Wheeling, WV 26003.
