To my friends and Family,
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share the passing of my beloved son Alex Rees. Born on April 6th, 1994, Alex has passed away on August 21st, 2023.
He attended school at Wheeling Park High School and worked for Kalkreuth Roofing Company.
Alex was a very loving, sensitive, and highly intelligent young man who sadly lost his battle with the disease of addiction.
I am sharing the cause of his death because no family thinks it will happen to them, myself included. Unfortunately, addiction can happen to anyone and come into any home. I would like it to be acknowledged that Alex fought with all his heart to overcome this disease, the shame and the pain of addiction. He truly wanted the family life he desperately deserved and most of all, wanted to be a daddy to his precious baby girl, Alaina Rees.
Alex will be greatly missed by mother, Maria Seals-Rees, father Jeffrey Rees, and his sister Autumn Rees. His uncles Michael (Uncle Ni) Seals and Greg Rees will live on with Alex’s memory.
I, Maria Seals-Rees, ask for respect for his memory and acknowledgement that his life mattered. Just remember, he tried, he struggled, he was loved and he was my son.
